Belated Arrival

My jacket (ordered in early January) has arrived! I was so thrilled to spot the delivery ticket in my post box that I proceeded to unwrap the package at the first opportunity. I attempted to try it on immediately after the initial unwrapping (Dan was not as enthusiastic, as I was sitting in the passenger seat of his Volvo at the time).
Fortunately, I was properly fitted with the garment as soon as we arrived home:

Even though it is now technically Spring in Germany, I am still very excited about my new jacket, and plan to wear it often.

Belated Update

As previously stated, Dan is now the proud owner of a 1991 Volvo 460GL. He took (and passed!) his driver's test last Wednesday. I will be posting pictures later- right now I am feeling too lazy to walk downstairs with the camera.

Sunshine and Nutella

It has been sunny the past two days, although this afternoon it began raining. It's scheduled to rain an additional three days this week, which I don't mind: as long as the snow lets up a bit. I am tired of being cold!

AND...

Dan bought a jar of Nutella a few weeks ago, and it was the first time either of us had tasted it. That is some good stuff!

Luisa II

Since Luisa was due back at the rental agency this week, I have been given another vehicle: Luisa II. While driving home, I decided to name the new Benz in the manner of conventional Central Europeans (I've been reading a lot of books in which the subject matter is primarily German and/or Austrian), whereupon younger family members take the forename of their seniors, though it is not commonly used.
Therefore, Luisa II has been renamed Luisa Joanne.

Auto Update: Poet should be arriving on or about the 9th of March. Can't wait!

SNOW

It has begun again: there is so much snow on the ground that it already reaches the middle of my calves, and that's only after two days! Also, as I was leaving work yesterday, I slipped and fell on a patch of ice; at first I thought my hip might be permanently damaged, but it wasn't. It was just a really hard fall.

ANNIVERSARY

I came home on Thursday to find the following:

Erick the Bear and Tulips from Dan

Dan and I usually celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day together, since they are so close. This year, after Dan returned home from work, we went out to have sushi, which was fabulous! Since he has to work tomorrow there will be no Valentine's Day in Paris, but we are definitely planning to visit sometime soon.

SPEAKING OF DAN...

I woke up this morning to the sound of Dan being sick in the bathroom. He is in the bedroom right now, recovering from a severe bout of nausea. Poor guy!

Interesting Stuff

The snow is finally melting (it has completely disappeared from the roof of the house in front of us) and the weather has been relatively nice lately; borderline warm, actually (in the upper 30s/low 40s).

Dan and I are both gainfully employed now: today was his first day of work, and I start on Monday. I planned on dragging him into town tomorrow so that I can make some last-minute purchases (prior to officially beginning training). I need clothes, desperately.
Unfortunately, Dan has to work tomorrow. I suppose I can go shopping on the base tomorrow, but I will reschedule the major spree for a time when we are both off-shift.
I attempted to take a picture of Dan when he came home, but he: a) was not wearing his uniform, and b) refused to model for me, saying that the current circumstances did not warrant photographic evidence (unlike his acquisition of the yellow bags). I did, however, manage to snag a picture of his work attire:

UPDATE

Also, our household goods are finally in the United Kingdom! Which means that, in less than a month (hopefully), they will be here, artfully displayed in our apartment. I think I've forgotten what "real" furniture looks and feels like.

Jennifer

THE STORM

According to the weather reports on my iGoogle page, it will snow every day for the next four days; we've already had lots of snow within the last week and a half, thanks to 'Snow Storm Jennifer.' Right now the wind is so loud that it's banging against the shutters. I got up a few moments ago to make sure everything was secure; when I glanced out the kitchen window, the trees were being whipped around, and there was snow all over the place.
Dan and I took a few pictures the other day, trying to capture the essence of the storm:

IN OTHER NEWS...

I went to "work" this morning, and introduced myself to my team-mates. They were all very nice. I think I will start training this weekend: Friday-Saturday-Sunday, but that hasn't be confirmed yet. I have to go back tomorrow, so I guess I will check then.
